It's never a good idea to get too involved with writing right after a game, because you start and end every sentence with Wooooooo! That's how I'm feeling right now. It'll take a little time to let this ugly win sink in, though.
It's nothing new for West Virginia to win sloppy games. Or at least sloppy first halves. But unlike so many times this year, the Mountaineers were only down by two at the half. There wasn't a reason to panic or rush things. Just convert on the opportunities they missed in the first half. They also had Pondexter in serious foul trouble for most of the game. Washington wasn't able to overcome that and their own sloppy play in the end. West Virginia hit their foul shots and got plenty of second chance points. Kevin Jones had some very timely three pointers that kept the Huskies from closing the gap when they tried to make a run.
Rule for the night, everyone will sleep with a basketball in their hands. They will repeat the anti-turnover creed: This is my ball, there are many like it but this one is mine....
